About the show:
Amy believes that with Brain Gym every child can fulfill his potential and succeed in school and life. This is what motivates her to teach Brain Gym. In her opinion the result would be greater peace, cooperation and caring in the world.
Join me now as Amy Devereaux shares her 3 steps to moving forward in our lives with intention.
Here are the 3 steps that Amy Devereaux gave to us:
- Start your day by having a positive intention for it.
- Sip water throughout the day in conjunction with your stated intention.
- Use “Belly Breathing” to relieve stress.

About my guest:

After retiring in 2007 to spend 5 months in Trinidad with a friend, Amy Devereaux ran for the Johnston County School Board in 2008 and lost. She campaigned on a platform to increase the graduation rate by using five methods: greater use of learning styles through self-testing online (apparently the website has been taken down), a buddy support system so that every child feels that he belongs, planned laughter breaks and/or incorporated into lessons to ease tension and make school and learning more fun, service learning so the children could see that their education was making a difference in the world, helping to solve real world problems at the same time relieving and preventing boredom, flexibility in school and work hours configured by a team made up of principals, the employer and student to keep the child in school while helping the student and his family financially and last but not least Brain Gym.
Amy believes in the basic goodness of people and that if everyone’s brain functioned properly, there would be no crimes and violence in the world. (Dr. Daniel Amen credits Brain Gym as one way to “Make a Good Brain Great” in his book with that title on page 131.)
